Add custom contact links to another system

If you're using a customer relationship management (CRM) system (or other system), you can set up shortcuts from Xero to access customer details in that system.

About custom contact links

Custom contact links connect your contacts in Xero with your customer details in your CRM or other system.

What links you add will depend on your CRM or other system. Check their help documentation if you're not sure how.

Create a custom contact link

  1. Go to Settings, select General Settings, then click Custom Contact Links.
  2. Click Add a Custom Link.

  3. Name - Enter the name of the CRM or other system you want to create a shortcut to.
  4. Link Definition - Enter the URL for the other system. (Check the other system's help documentation if you're not sure which URL to use.)
  5. Contact Fields Chooser - Select the contact field in Xero to match the link you need to create.

    Contact ID is a hidden field that Xero uses to uniquely identify a contact and contact code. It will only be displayed for a contact you're already receiving data from.

  6. Click Save.

Once you've created a custom link, every contact in Xero will have a direct link into this system.
