Create, edit or delete placeholders for report schedules

If your practice still uses the older style report packs, you need to create placeholders for any new report schedules before you can insert them in report packs.

You can access report templates from the Reports tab in either Xero HQ or My Xero Partner Edition.

Schedule placeholders in My Xero

Before you can add new schedules in report packs, you need to create a placeholder name and description for the schedule. You can also edit and delete schedule placeholders. You won't be able to delete a placeholder if it has been added to a report layout.

Create a placeholder for a schedule

  1. In the header, click the list icon Image showing the List icon..
  2. If you have opted into Xero HQ, select Xero HQ. Otherwise select My Xero.
  3. Go to Reports.
  4. Click View Old Packs.
  5. Click Report Schedules.
  6. Click Add Placeholder.
  7. Enter a name, which will identify the schedule when you add it to a report pack.
  8. Enter a description (optional).
  9. Click Save or Save & add another.

Edit a schedule placeholder

  1. In the header, click the list icon Image showing the List icon..
  2. If you have opted into Xero HQ, select Xero HQ. Otherwise select My Xero.
  3. Go to Reports.
  4. Click View Old Packs.
  5. Click Report Schedules.
  6. Select the schedule placeholder to edit it.
  7. Change the name or description.
  8. Click Save.

Delete a schedule placeholder

  1. In the header, click the list icon Image showing the List icon..
  2. If you have opted into Xero HQ, select Xero HQ. Otherwise select My Xero.
  3. Go to Reports.
  4. Click View Old Packs.
  5. Click Report Schedules.
  6. Select the schedule placeholder.
  7. Click Delete Schedule.
  8. Click Delete to confirm.
