Create, edit or delete placeholders for report schedules in Partner Edition

If your practice still uses the older style report packs, you need to create placeholders for any new report schedules before you can insert them in reports.

Important: Our new report templates allow you to create a schedule from within a text block when you are editing a report. You don't need to create schedule placeholders first.

Add a schedule to a new report

Create a placeholder for a schedule in My Xero

Before you can set up new schedules in report templates, you need to create a placeholder name and description for the schedule as follows.

  1. From the header, click the list icon Image showing the list icon, then select My Xero.

  2. Click the Reports tab.

  3. Click Report Schedules.

    Click Report Schedules button.

  4. Click Add Placeholder.

    Click Add Placeholder button.

  5. Enter a schedule name. The name you enter will identify the schedule when you add it to a report template later.

  6. (Optional.) Enter a description.

  7. Click Save or Save & add another to add the new schedule placeholder to the list.

Edit a schedule placeholder in My Xero

To change the name or description of a placeholder:

  1. From the header, click the list icon Image showing the list icon, then select My Xero.

  2. Click the Reports tab.

  3. Click Report Schedules.

  4. Click on the schedule placeholder to edit it.

  5. Change the name or description.

  6. Click Save.

Delete a schedule placeholder in My Xero

You can delete any placeholders which aren't in use as follows. If a placeholder has been added to a report layout, you won't be able to delete it.

  1. From the header, click the list icon Image showing the list icon, then select My Xero.

  2. Click the Reports tab.

  3. Click Report Schedules.

  4. Click on the schedule placeholder.

  5. Click Delete Schedule.

  6. Click Delete to confirm.
