Get started with report templates

Get started using report templates.

Report templates are now located in Xero HQ, you can still access them via the Reports tab in either My Xero Partner Edition or Xero HQ. For more details about Xero HQ and how to switch from Xero HQ to My Xero Partner Edition see Frequently asked questions about Xero HQ.

Access report templates

You need 'Edit report templates' permission before you can create or edit report templates. Someone with Principal or Practice Administrator permissions in your practice can give you this.

Set up staff access to report templates

Once you've got access, you'll get to practice-wide templates as follows:

  1. In the header, click the list icon Image showing the List icon..
  2. If you have opted into Xero HQ, select Xero HQ. Otherwise select My Xero.
  3. Go to Reports.

Access report templates in a client's Xero organization

You can run any report templates created in your practice from within a client's Xero organization as follows. You don't need 'Edit report templates' permission to do this.

  1. In the Reports menu, select All Reports.
  2. Select Advisor.
  3. Select the report template you want to use.
