Set up or change client codes in My Xero Partner Edition

If you use Partner Edition, you can use client codes in My Xero. Client codes are unique alphanumeric codes that make it easy for you to bill clients with multiple Xero organizations, or change Xero display names.

About client codes

Client codes have a 50-character limit. Once added, they show under the Client Code column in your subscription invoice CSV.

Add a client code

  1. From the header, click the list icon Image showing the list icon, then select My Xero.

  2. Find the organization you want and click its Info link.

  3. Click Options, then select Add client code.

  4. Enter an alphanumeric code for the client, and click Add Code.

You can also access the subscription options by clicking Xero Subscription in your General Settings, then clicking Manage in My Xero to show them in a new browser window.

Edit a client code

  1. From the header, click the list icon Image showing the list icon, then select My Xero.

  2. Find the organization you want and click its Info link.

  3. Click Options, then select Edit client code.

  4. Update the code and click Edit Code.

Delete a client code

  1. From the header, click the list icon Image showing the list icon, then select My Xero.

  2. Find the organization you want and click its Info link.

  3. Click Options, then select Edit client code.

  4. Remove the code so the field is blank, and click Edit Code.
