Add a contact

Here's one of the ways you can add an individual customer or supplier as a contact. You might add a contact this way - rather than when you're entering their first transaction - to set up customized details such as default tax settings or due dates.

  1. Click the plus icon Image of the plus icon on the Xero Business Dashboard and select Contact.
  2. Enter your contact's name.

    If you can, use English or the basic Roman alphabet. This will let you search for your contact throughout Xero.

  3. (Optional) Enter your contact's details.
  4. Click Save.

Your contact will display under the All contacts group, and will also display in the Customers or Suppliers group once you've entered a sales invoice, bill or credit note transaction for them.
