Log in to Xero using two-step authentication

Learn more about logging into Xero using two-step authentication and what to do if you can't use the authenticator app.

Log in using an authentication code

  1. Go to the login page and sign in to your account.

  2. On your mobile device, open the authenticator app and enter the six-digit code.

  3. (Optional) If you want to identify your computer as trusted, select the Remember me for 30 days checkbox. This only applies when using the same computer with the same browser.

  4. Click Sign In.

After 6 unsuccessful login attempts we'll lock your account temporarily. You can try logging in again after 2 hours.

Log in without an authentication code

If you don't have your mobile device, or the authentication code is not working, you can still log in.

  1. Go to the login page and sign in to your account as usual.
  2. Click I can't use my authentication app.
  3. Answer the security questions, then click Sign In.
The security questions shouldn't be used regularly. They are a backup option and aren't as secure as the authentication code.
