View information on an online credit note

Learn what information displays on a customer's online credit note, and the extra features that are available. Your user role determines your access to credit notes.

There are differences between online and PDF credit notes. Especially ones that have a DOCX branding theme.

Credit note display with DOCX branding theme

Online credit notes with DOCX branding display differently from PDF credit notes.

  • Your logo doesn't display

Your logo doesn't display if you applied a DOCX branding theme that contained a logo to your credit note.

However, the PDF emailed with the online credit note link and the PDF from within the online credit note both display the logo.

  • Your trading name and postal address displays

The legal/trading name and postal address in Organisation Settings displays in your online invoice. This may differ to the contact details you set up in your branding theme.

However, the PDF emailed with the online credit note link and the PDF from within the online credit note both display the contact details set up in your branding theme.

  • Line item information doesn't display

Line item information, such as the description, quantity, unit price and tax, doesn't display.

However, the PDF emailed with the online credit note link and the PDF from within the online credit note both display line item information.

  • Your tax number doesn't display

The tax number is the GST number you entered in Financial Settings.

However, the PDF emailed with the online credit note link and the PDF from within the online credit note both display the tax number.
