Email a file attachment

Attach a file to an invoice, credit note, or prepayment to email to your customer. You can attach files totalling up to 7MB. You can only attach files you've already included with your online transaction and have made available for sending.

View files included with transactions

When emailing a single invoice, credit note or prepayment, you'll see the included files listed in the Send [item] window.

When emailing multiple transactions, click the file icon Image of the File icon. to view or download the included files.

Make a file available for sending

After you've included a file with a transaction you'll need to make it available for sending before attaching it to an email.

  1. Click the file you want to attach.
  2. Click the option icon Image showing file attachment button and select Include with [item].

Attach a file in an email

Once the file is made available for sending, select the Include files as attachments checkbox to attach and send it with the email.

Remove files from the transaction email

If you're emailing a single transaction, click Remove next to each file you don't want to send with the email.

When you remove a file, Xero removes it from the transaction. You'll need to go into the individual transaction to include it again.
