Add a contact

Here's one of the ways you can add an individual customer or supplier as a contact. You might add a contact this way - rather than when you're entering their first transaction - to set up customised details such as default tax settings or due dates.

  1. Click the plus icon Image of the plus icon. and select Contact.
  2. Enter your contact's name or full NZBN number to activate the business lookup.
  3. Select a contact if there's a match. Xero will automatically populate the address when available.
  4. (Optional) Enter your contact's details.
  5. Click Save.

Your contact will display under the All contacts group, and will also display in the Customers or Suppliers group once you've entered an invoice, bill or credit note transaction for them.

For contacts added using the business lookup, their payment risk information will be saved to their contact details.
