Send and review queries

Send a query to a client and review the answers. Close completed queries to remove them from your list of active queries.

Send a query

After you’ve created a query for a client, send the query to a contact for answers. You can't make changes to a query once it has been sent.

  1. Go to Ask and select the Queries tab, then click the query in the list.
  2. Click Send query.
  3. In the To field, do one of the following:
    • Select a client contact.
    • Create a new contact for the client.
    • Enter an email address.
  4. (Optional) Make changes to the subject and body of the message.
  5. Click Send to send the contact a link to the query.
You can't make changes to the questions in a query once it has been sent, but you can edit the query details.

Send to another contact

Once you’ve sent a query to a client, you can send it to another contact for the same client or resend it to the same contact.

  1. Go to Ask and select the Queries tab, then click the query in the list.
  2. (Optional) Edit the query details.
  3. Click Resend query.
  4. Enter the name and email for your client contact.
  5. (Optional) Make changes to the subject and body of the message.
  6. Click Send to send the contact a link to the query.

Review the answers to a query

When your client has submitted answers to some or all of the questions in a query, Ask sends you an email, displays an alert in the Activity feed, and adds a Submitted tag to the entry in the query list. Simply click the query in the list to review the answers.

After you’ve reviewed the answers you can:

  • Add new questions to the query or edit unanswered ones and resend
  • Send the query to another contact, with or without making changes to the query, questions, or sections
  • Close the query

Resend a submitted query

Once a query has been submitted you're able to add new questions or edit unanswered ones, and resend the query to your client.

  1. Go to Ask and select the Queries tab.
  2. Click the query in the list, then either:
    • Click Add or edit questions and add new questions or edit answered ones, if your client hasn't answered all of the questions.
    • Click Add questions and add new questions, if there are no unanswered questions.
  3. (Optional) Edit the query details.
  4. Click Resend query.
  5. In the To field, do one of the following:
    • Select a client contact.
    • Create a new contact for the client.
    • Enter an email address.
  6. (Optional) Make changes to the subject and body of the message.
  7. Click Send to send the contact a link to the query.
