Delete an employee

Delete an employee record from payroll if there are no payroll related transactions for them in Xero. You may want to do this if the employee was added twice and you want to completely remove the duplicate record from Xero.

If you've included the employee in a payroll, you can't delete them. You'll need to end their employment by adding a termination date for employee with no final pay.
  1. In the Payroll menu, select Employees.
  2. Click the name of the employee to open their details.
  3. Click the Employment tab.
  4. Click Options and select Delete Employee.
  5. Click to Yes confirm you want to delete the employee.
