Why is the 'Transfer to Pool' option greyed out?

If the 'Transfer to Pool' option for your fixed asset is greyed out, check these reasons and suggestions.

The asset hasn't completed its first year of tax depreciation in Xero

You can only transfer a fixed asset to a pool in the asset's second or later year of tax depreciation in Xero.

If you want the asset to be pooled in its first year of tax depreciation, edit the asset to change its Tax Depreciation Method to Pooled.

Otherwise, run depreciation to the end of the financial year, then transfer the asset.

The current depreciation date in Xero is in the same financial year as the asset's tax depreciation start date

You can't transfer an asset to a pool in the same financial year as the asset's tax depreciation start date.

If you want the asset to be pooled in its first year of tax depreciation, edit the asset to change its Tax Depreciation Method to Pooled.

Otherwise, run depreciation to the end of the financial year, then transfer the asset.

The current depreciation date in Xero is earlier than the pool start date

You can't transfer an asset to a pool if the depreciation date in Xero is before the pool's start date. Run depreciation up to the pool's start date, then transfer the asset.
